The Visual Arts

The Foundation is an active supporter of the visual arts, with an emphasis on education, scholarship and international exchange. Rory and Elizabeth have been Patrons of the Tate since 200 and Elizabeth is a previous Chair of the Tate Patrons Executive Committee, which for over 30 years has helped secure the acquisition of more than 300 works of art and supported exhibitions, education programmes, conservation and archive projects.

The Foundation are funding the Brooks International Fellowship at the Tate. The multi-year programme enables three fully-funded curators, researchers, art historians or other museum professionals to work with Tate colleagues over a 12 week period on designated projects at Tate, complemented by activities at Delfina Foundation, London, each year.

The Foundation is also a supporter of the Roche Court Education Trust’s ARTiculation Prize. ARTiculation is the Trust’s national public speaking initiative, which encourages young people to develop critical thinking, analysis, presentation and public speaking skills. It does this through a series of workshops and a public speaking prize for 14 to 18 year olds.

Elizabeth is active on the Tate Photography Acquisition Board and is a patron of a number of arts organisations, including Turner Contemporary, The Showroom, Art Fund and the Director’s Circle of the The Photographers Gallery.
