Areas of Focus
The areas of focus of the Foundation are a reflection of Rory and Elizabeth’s life experiences and interests. The Foundation is currently involved in providing support in the following areas:
– Global Development and poverty research
– Higher education in the UK
– Visual arts
– Social Justice
Rory and Elizabeth back up the Foundation’s giving through personal engagement in many of the areas it supports. Partnership is a key consideration for the Foundation and in each area of focus there are one or more partners with which Rory and Elizabeth work.
As an increasingly high-profile advocate for philanthropy in Higher Education, and the Chair of the University of Manchester’s Global Leadership Board, Rory is able to extend his support for the University sector. Rory was also previously Chairman of the Centre for Social Justice.
Elizabeth is a previous Chair of the Tate Patrons Executive Committee, which has for over 30 years secured the acquisition of more than 300 works of art for the National Collection and supported exhibitions and learning programs for thousands of schoolchildren. She is also involved with the work of RPT, a local affiliate of the social exclusion charity P3 where she formerly served as a Trustee for 9 years.
